Good Shepherd Figurine
A good shepherd is the one that leads his sheep, guards them and defends them from all dangers. A good shepherd is the one that gives his life to protect his sheep.
Jesus is a Good Shepherd. He sacrificed His life for us, who are His flock. It was by His sacrifice that we received salvation.
In Matthew 18, Jesus shared about the Parable of the Wandering Sheep. He said that a shepherd would leave his 99 sheep to look for the one that wandered off.
Who leaves the 99 to look for one missing sheep? The Good Shepherd does!
In a different account in the Bible, Jesus adds that there’s more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over the 99 righteous people who do not need to repent.
